Is My Brother a Cocaine User?

Question by Sweet_Elizabeth: Is my brother a cocaine user?
Okay, well my brother said that he uses cocaine. This morning I heard an odd nose and got out of my room. I saw my brother’s nose bleed really bad. I urged him to take him to the hospital but he declined and I then went back asleep. Later on today I asked my brother if he uses cocaine and he replied yes. However, I do not understand why he does it, where can I go to get help for my brother even though he does not seek out help. I tried to speak with him about it but he is not responding to me. I don’t want to see my brother dead. He is only 21 years old and has a bright future ahead of him. Also, I don’t understand why he is doing it since he has been blessed with so many things. He makes $ 60,000 yearly, is handsome and can get whichever girl he wants; however, he hangs out with the wrong crowds. Someone please help. We live in the Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas.

You have been misdirected. Your brother doesn’t “need help”. It is highly unlikely that a drug like cocaine will kill him. You will likely only cause more damage by trying to play the superhero and “saving him”. Cocaine itself is not very dangerous, the addiction, the additives, and the people required to get it can be. If you think a drug can tear a person’s life apart, then compare it to having a “felony” on your record. Anyways, when you decide to stop trying to be a “hero”, just ask him for the best way to help him, if he wants your help he’ll tell you. If he doesn’t want help, then he probably doesn’t need it yet.

Remember: You cannot change a person who doesn’t want to be changed.
