Are There Any Foods Out There That Actually Lower Cholesterol?

Question by primoa1970: Are there any foods out there that actually lower cholesterol?
I just had blood-work done as a requirement for signing up for Amica Life Insurance. They sent a nurse to our home to take our blood……….and 5 days later, I was told that my cholesterol is “elevated”……and therefore when I die, my wife wont get as much money as was originally expected.

Apparently I am now “high risk” to them.

So are there any steps I can take to lower my cholesterol WITHOUT drugs? From what I know, the cholesterol medications that are out there work, but at the cost of messing up your liver.

And thoughts or advice?

Thanks,

Primo
Thought I would add some specifics about myself:

5 foot 8
145 pounds
Normal blood pressure
38 years old
